TAMPA - A man shot in the shoulder Tuesday by U.S. marshals has been charged on a murder warrant via his bed at Tampa General Hospital.
Thomas Ford McCoy, 42, was booked on the warrant at the hospital about 7 p.m. Tuesday, records show.
Today, he is being held without bail at the hospital pending a hearing in Walton County.
Federal authorities said McCoy is accused of being involved in a slaying in DeFuniak Springs less than two weeks ago.
The U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force tracked him Tuesday morning to a Holiday Inn Express on Busch Boulevard.
Deputy marshals shot McCoy after he drew a handgun at the officers, authorities said.
