TAMPA - Police charged a homeless man with felony aggravated battery on Tuesday, saying he struck another man in the ear with a claw hammer.
Frederick Rodgers, 59, was held at the Orient Road Jail today on $7,500 bail, records show.
Tampa police said Rodgers got into an argument with Lewis Edward Hagood about 7:32 p.m. Tuesday in the 6800 block of South West Shore Boulevard.
The argument began because Rodgers thought Hagood, 63, who lives on North 13th Street, owed him money, police said.
Hagood suffered a minor cut to his ear and refused medical treatment, police said.
