Police: Man performed sex act near Tampa child care

TAMPA - A 45-year-old man performed a sex act by himself about 20 feet away from children in a child care center's playground, police say.
Officers arrested Thomas F. Stringer at 10:56 a.m. Wednesday at 413 E. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. He was charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition and committing a lewd and lascivious act.
Officers say Stringer performed the act near the fenced playground at Baycrest Academy Child Care center.
There were about 15 children on scene, ranging in age from about 1 to 4, an arrest report states.
Stringer remained in Orient Road Jail today. His bail was set at $15,000.
