NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco County authorities have released a composite sketch of a suspect in last week's attempted armed robbery of a pharmacy and earlier assault of a 71-year-old carjacking victim.
The composite is of one of two suspects in the 1 p.m. April 14 robbery attempt at the Medicine Shoppe, 10720 State Road 54, and the carjacking 35 minutes earlier outside the Ross Dress for Less store on Little Road at S.R. 54.
An updated description released Thursday is of a Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a medium build, weighing approximately 180 pounds. He has dark eyes and a "scruffy mustache," though his hair color is unknown. He was armed with a shotgun at the pharmacy and a handgun during the carjacking attempt.
The second suspect, possibly a female, is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a slender build.
That suspect held a handgun during the pharmacy robbery attempt.
Both suspects left in a silver, newer model Dodge Status after dumping the carjacked van.
Anyone with information about either suspect is asked to contact the Pasco County Sheriff's Office or any other local law enforcement agency.
