TAMPA - A month ago, students at Hillsborough High School had nothing positive to say about Positive Park.
That was not the case after Wednesday, when more than 50 students turned out on Earth Day to transform the mostly trashy courtyard into a garden. Students belonging to the Environmental Awareness Club were joined by members of ROTC and the Hillsborough Ambassadors to help transform the blighted area into a pleasant refuge.
"A lot of students are personally affected by the recession," said Caitie Worrell, a junior and vice president of the environmental club. "I'm sure everyone here has some kind of stress.
"At school, it's good to have a tranquil place to sit and be calm."
