SEMINOLE - A woman on a personal watercraft flew out of Lake Seminole and over about 100 feet of land, plowing through a picnic table and crashing into a tree, deputies say.
Kokab Jiries Kakesh, 62, of Belleair suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Bayfront Medical Center.
About 1:35 p.m., Cliff Sumner, 27, of Tampa heard screams and saw a woman in her 50s speeding through the parking lot of Lake Seminole Park, 10015 Park Blvd. N., on a Sea-Doo watercraft.
"It was like a watching a James Bond movie," Sumner said.
The woman hit a picnic table, sending splintered wood as far as 50 feet. The watercraft traveled 100 feet across a parking lot, turned 180 degrees and struck a curb, deputies say. Kakesh was ejected and struck a palm tree. Sumner helped her until paramedics arrived.
An investigation is ongoing.
