TAMPA - Justice was served Thursday at the Krispy Kreme doughnut shop on Kennedy Boulevard. The Tampa Police Department horse nosed his way through the drive-through at least twice for an apple-cinnamon-filled doughnut to help kick off the department's annual fundraiser for the Special Olympics.
"He's a monster when it comes to food," said Justice's partner, Officer Tim Pasley.
"Cops on Doughnut Shops," in its fourth year, is one of several events trying to raise a total of $30,000, organizers say. Officers will be on the roofs of the Tampa and Brandon stores today, and the fundraiser lasts until 11 a.m. Saturday. Donations can be made at the Kennedy store, at 2128 W. Brandon Blvd. and at 32130 U.S. 19 N. in Palm Harbor.
