NEW PORT RICHEY - An inmate who hanged himself at the west Pasco County Jail early Thursday was identified as 31-year-old Jeremy Edward Lunn, sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said.
Lunn was found hanging by a sheet in his cell about 4:45 a.m. Thursday.
"He was going to be extradited to Ohio, and he got a 'Dear John' letter shortly before he committed suicide," Doll said. "Whether or not that was a factor is all speculation."
A Findlay, Ohio, native, Lunn was being held in Pasco on charges including driving under the influence, burglary of an occupied dwelling, fraudulent use of a credit card and resisting arrest without violence, jail records said.
It was unclear why he was to be extradited to Ohio.
