NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco County authorities have released a composite sketch of a man in the attempted armed robbery of a pharmacy last week and the earlier assault of a 71-year-old carjacking victim.
The composite is of one of two people in the 1 p.m. April 14 robbery attempt at Medicine Shoppe, 10720 State Road 54, and a carjacking 35 minutes earlier outside the Ross Dress for Less store on Little Road at S.R. 54.
An updated description released Thursday is of a Hispanic male, 25 to 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall, medium build, and weighing about 180 pounds. He has dark eyes and had a "scruffy mustache." Hair color is unknown. He had a shotgun at the pharmacy and a handgun during the carjacking.
The second person, possibly a woman, is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and slender.
That person had a handgun during the pharmacy robbery attempt.
Both people left in a silver, newer model Dodge Stratus after dumping the carjacked van.
Anyone with information should contact the Pasco County Sheriff's Office or other local law enforcement agency.
