WESLEY CHAPEL - The American Cancer Society has selected Taylor Dumke, Thomas E. Weightman Middle School student and cancer survivor, to serve as honorary chair for this year's Relay For Life of Wesley Chapel, which started Friday and continues today.
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's national signature event and is as much an awareness raiser as it is a fundraiser.
This family-oriented team event brings participants from all parts of the community together in a "celebration of life."
Businesses, civic clubs, churches, friends and families take turns walking in relay fashion as they celebrate the critical role the American Cancer Society plays in the fight against cancer.
The Relay For Life of Wesley Chapel is taking place at Wesley Chapel High School, 30651 Wells Road. The public is invited to attend.
All proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society.
