Tampa - A man is accused of trying to stab his father in the stomach with a knife after the father confronted him about his drinking, an affidavit states.
Police charged Dominic Signorelli, 35, of Tampa with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after the argument with his father today.
Signorelli was held without bail at the Orient Road Jail.
According to Tampa police, Signorelli armed himself with a six-inch butcher knife about 1:02 a.m. after his father confronted him about being drunk.
Signorelli attempted to stab his father in the stomach, but the father escaped into another room and locked the door, police said.
The father told police he was in fear for his life, an affidavit states.
