TAMPA - About 2,500 to 3,000 people (and several dogs) participated Saturday morning in the 5-mile March of Dimes March for Babies, which started at the University of Tampa's Plant Park. Crowds also gathered in Safety Harbor, New Port Richey and Lakeland for similar fundraising events. Money raised by the walk goes to support research and programs that help mothers have full-term pregnancies and give a healthy start to babies.
