LAKELAND - Polk County sheriff's detectives say a 10-year-old boy from Lakeland who did not come home Monday night has been found.
The sheriff's office said that around 6:30 p.m. today, a deputy found Isiah Seraphin, of 2517 Cetra Court, playing on a swing on Miller Road in Lakeland. A woman had called the office to say her daughter, one of Isiah's classmates at Crystal Lake Elementary, had seen the boy.
Detectives continue to interview the boy and his family, but officials say Isiah told them he spent the night at a friend's house apparently without the knowledge of the friend's parents.
Isiah left a friend's house at 724 Spicewood Drive in Lakeland about 8:30 p.m. Monday. Isiah told his friend that he was going to see another friend, but didn't mention a name or where he was going.
When Isiah did not arrive home Monday night, his mother and her boyfriend went to bed, thinking he would eventually come home.
His mother told deputies that Isiah had a history of not coming home. She reported him missing at 8:30 a.m. today.
