TAMPA - Heads up at Tampa International Airport if you are departing on a Northwest Airlines flight today and after, or meeting an arriving Northwest passenger.
Northwest will relocate its operations to Delta Air Lines' ticket counter, baggage claim, curbside baggage and airline arrivals and departure airside for this morning's flights as part of the Delta-Northwest merger approved in October that will be completed by the end of 2010.
Both airlines have operated from the "Blue" side of the main terminal, so Northwest travelers accustomed to heading to the "Blue" arrivals and departures curbside areas can proceed as normal, but to the Delta areas.
The major change will take place with an overnight relocation of Northwest signage and operations from Airside A to Delta's site on Airside E in time for a 6:22 a.m. Northwest departure to Memphis.
Delta won't eliminate the Northwest name until early next year, when the airlines combine reservations systems and phase out Northwest's Web site.
