I read with great glee the April 27 letter from Dick Artz, "Send liberals abroad." He offered to buy me, a liberal, a ticket for my return to the socialist European country that I most admire. I would like two tickets to France, so that I can take my conservative girlfriend with me to immerse ourselves fully in their socialistic society.

Haven't we as a society moved past the need for all those outdated labels?

The writer is correct on one point: We cannot remain divided. Both groups can vigorously work together to achieve the mutual efforts of both. Welcome to a new day and age, my progressive-liberal, capitalist-conservative new friend.

I reach across the great divide to thank you for my ticket. When can I expect it?
