Mall adding 5 new tenants

International Plaza is welcoming five new stores and restaurants this year, the Tampa mall announced Wednesday.

Aside from the previously announced Crate & Barrel, which opens May 21, the mall will receive the following retailers this summer: apparel and accessories chain True Religion Brand Jeans; Bare Escentuals, a cosmetics chain that markets its lack of preservatives, fillers and binders; and The Row, a locally-owned apparel store. A two-story restaurant, Brio Tuscan Grille, is expected to open in time for the holidays along Bay Street.

Burger King earnings rise

Burger King Holdings Inc. said Wednesday the swine flu outbreak in Mexico will likely cut into its sales for the year, leading the chain to cut its outlook after reporting a 15 percent rise in its fiscal third-quarter profit.

For the quarter that ended March 31, Burger King earned $47 million, or 34 cents per share. Last year's profit totaled $41 million, or 30 cents per share.
