NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco Fire Rescue officials are investigating a blaze that occurred late Thursday night and displaced four residents.
Just after 11:30 p.m., fire rescue dispatch got a call of a heavy fire at 6245 Old Trail in Oakwood estates. The first fire engine was on the scene in four minutes, said Assistant Chief Mike Ciccarello. The blaze was brought under control at 12:11 a.m. Friday, but fire crews remained on the scene until after 3 a.m., he said.
The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced residents, Ciccarello said. One person was slightly injured, but details on the injury were unavailable.
In all, 24 firefighters fought the blaze, and none was injured, Ciccarello said.
Damage is estimated at $80,000, he said.
County property records show the home is owned by Arlene Grogg. The replacement value for the nearly 3,000-square-foot single-story block home is about $125,000, records say.
