NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco sheriff's officials have identified the man shot outside a home in Land O' Lakes early Saturday.
William Vincent Kuch, 23, of 26232 Sword Dancer Drive, Wesley Chapel, was taken to a local hospital where he was in serious condition hours after the shooting. His condition today wasn't immediately known.
Deputies say Gregory Stewart II, of 3239 Golden Eagle Drive, heard someone at his door early Saturday and confronted Kuch, whom he didn't know, and told him to leave. Kuch, who appeared to be confused, returned to the home shortly after.
Stewart shot Kuch in the chest while he was in the front yard, officials say.
Stewart, 32, was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery. He was released from the Land O' Lakes Jail on Saturday after posting $20,000 bail.
