TAMPA - A 30-year-old woman was charged with second-degree murder today after she shot her boyfriend, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.
Venecia Depaula shot her boyfriend at around 6 a.m. Monday at the Foxcroft Apartments, 3817 Tudor Court, Tampa, the sheriff's office said.
The sheriff's office said the two had an argument during the night. In the morning, Depaula shot Phillipe Perez, 29, in the upper torso, the sheriff's office said. He was later found dead in the living room.
After the shooting, Depaula drove to Palm Beach County, according to the sheriff's office. At around 11 a.m., she went to the Palm Springs Police Department and told officials she had shot her boyfriend and believed he was dead.
A warrant was obtained for Depaula's arrest. She is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail.
