TAMPA - Josh Freeman hasn't been given a lot of work the first week of training camp. That figures to change dramatically today.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris said Thursday that plans call for veteran QBs Luke McCown and Byron Leftwich to more or less get a day off from throwing today, so it looks like today's workout belongs to the kids, Freeman and Josh Johnson.
"The QB coach designed it so that if the two older guys came out and executed well we'd give them a little Santa Claus treatment [today],'' Morris said. "So we'll let them rest their arms a little bit and look at the other guys. They needs some opportunities and so we're going to provide them with that [today].''
The Bucs were originally slated to practice twice today, but Morris has already scrapped the second workout. The lone workout of the day begins at 10:15 a.m.
