Woman killed in collision

LAND O' LAKES - A 73-year-old woman was killed Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 54 at Oakstead Boulevard, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Lillian Horbert, of New Port Richey, was in a 2006 Chevrolet driven by Everett Horbert, 79, when the crash, west of U.S. 41, happened at 9:22 a.m. The patrol said Everett Horbert turned left into the path a 2005 Ford van driven by Ronald E. Mullens of Land O' Lakes.

The van struck the passenger side of Horbert's car. Mullens' van also hit a 2003 Saturn, records said.

Lillian Horbert was taken to University Community Hospital on Fletcher Avenue in Tampa, where she died, records said. Everett Horbert suffered serious injuries and was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, records said. His condition was not readily available.

Witnesses are asked to call patrol Cpl. A. Palese at (727) 841-4181.
