I attended a non-meeting, which was advertised as a "Town Hall Meeting Health Care Reform." It was hosted by state Rep. Betty Reed.
Had it really been a meeting, there would have been room for people inside the building and meeting room. Several hundred of us stood outside in the heat trying to find a way to get a message to U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor about our feelings regarding the current proposals for health care reform currently circulating in Washington.
Of several hundred people of all ages outside the building, there were not more than a dozen supporters of the current proposal. It appears Castor is cutting a lot of people out of the discussion.
I would like to challenge Castor to debate the reform proposals in a neutral, public venue with sufficient space to admit those who are interested. Surely, she would not be afraid to debate this issue with a farm boy like me.
