TAMPA - With the University of South Florida's season opener less than four weeks away, the school has distributed 23,349 season tickets through Monday, executive associate athletic director Bill McGillis said.
The school sold 648 season tickets in the past four weeks, but still remains 4,530 tickets behind last season when the Bulls distributed a program-record 27,879 season tickets. That's a 16.2 percent drop off from last year's record total.
Of USF's 23,349 season tickets distributed this year, 20,131 are paid season tickets. The remaining 3,218 are non-revenue. USF's 23,349 season tickets do not include 12,501 tickets reserved for USF's students.
This year marks only the fourth time in the program's 13 seasons that the Bulls have distributed more than 20,000 season tickets.
USF opens against Division I-AA Wofford on Sept. 5. Season tickets will remain available until next month, while single game tickets are now on sale. USF's remaining home games are against Division I-AA Charleston Southern, Cincinnati, West Virginia, Louisville and Miami.
The school's Fan Appreciation Day is Saturday from 3-6 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium. Admission is free.
