Once again, the Hillsborough County School Board has shown a lack of direction with its recent decision on exam exemptions. No alternatives, no data, just cancel the policy.
There are several ways to enact a fair exemption plan, but those were not considered. Coming on the same week as Bright Futures allowances being cut, this hits intelligent, hard-working students hard.
If the school board thinks that this change is going to keep "sick" children out of the classroom, we all know they are incorrect.
I do agree with with one aspect of what Doretha Edgecomb said regarding "flexibility and change." It is time for some flexibility in our voting and change on the school board.
