Brandon's Chris Colwill, a graduate of Tampa Prep and the University of Georgia, joined forces with Olympic teammate Jevon Tarantino of Boca Raton to capture the men's 3-meter synchronized diving title at Saturday's AT&T National Diving Championships at the Morcom Aquatics Center in Tallahassee.

Colwill and Tarantino, who were fourth in the event at last year's Beijing Olympics, won their synchro title with 440.43 points. It was their first major event since those Games and the duo scored 80 or more points on all four of their optional dives.

"We did something today that we haven't done in a long time. It was great to score 440, said Colwill, who, individually, finished fourth in men's 3-meter springboard. "We really focused on our individual diving and that helped our synchro."

Agonizingly close to the bronze medal in Beijing, Tarantino said he was glad to get back into competition with Colwill.

"It's been pretty rough after the Olympics and we were much more relaxed today,"Tarantino said. "[Before the meet], we said, 'We're going to do it.' It was great to come out and dive like that." Tarantino said.

The men's idividual winner of 3-meter was Troy Dumais, who recently took the silver medal at the world championships in Rome. Saturday's victory was Dumais' 29th career national title. He scored 511.80 in the finals.

The championships conclude Sunday with women's 3-meter, men's 10-meter, women's 3-meter synchro and men's 10-meter synchro. The first event is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
