ST. PETERSBURG - Volunteers willing to get their sneakers wet for the environment will have a chance Oct. 10.
The Tampa Bay Estuary Program is seeking volunteers for a Give a Day for the Bay cleanup at Weedon Island Preserve from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Oct. 10.
All volunteers receive free lunch and a reusable Tampa Bay Estuary Program water bottle.
Wind and tides have blown a variety of floating trash into the mangroves lining the shore. The estuary program needs help rounding up plastic bottles, tennis balls, Styrofoam debris, glass and more.
E-mail colleen@tbep.org to sign up. Volunteers must be at least 13 years old.
