TALLAHASSEE - Florida State QB Christian Ponder said he's more confident entering his second season as the Seminoles' starter.
Ponder was 12-for-15 for 233 yards and two touchdowns Saturday in the second scrimmage of camp. In two scrimmages, he is 27-for-36 for 520 yards and six touchdowns.
Offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher said Ponder and the offense looked sharp Saturday, giving him a good idea of the Seminoles' starting lineup for the Sept. 7 opener against Miami.
Defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews says injuries to CBs Ochuko Jenije and Xavier Rhodes and S Korey Mangum have hampered his defense's progress. Andrews lost six starters from last season.
