TAMPA - The Tampa Bay Buccanneers placed LB Angelo Crowell on injured reserve Monday, two days after he tore a biceps muscle during a preseason game against Jacksonville.
The team signed two players: LB Bo Ruud, the younger brother of Bucs starting middle linebacker Barrett Ruud and CB Darrell Hunter.
Hunter spent a part of the 2008 season on the New Orleans Saints' practice squad and was with the Bucs briefly during the 2008 offseason.
Bo Ruud spent most of the offseason with the Cleveland Browns. He originally entered the league as a 2008 sixth-round draft pick of the New England Patriots, but spent all of last season on injured reserve.
Crowell, who signed with the Bucs as a free agent after missing all of the 2008 season because of knee surgery. He hoped to compete for a starting position, but his recovery kept him from participating in most of the offseason workouts and limited him at the beginning of training camp.
Quincy Black is the projected starter at strongside linebacker.
