GAINESVILLE - Florida quarterback Tim Tebow is "head-butting people" again after missing practice repetitions last week because of a sore lower back.

Tebow returned to full-contact practice Monday and said his back felt fine.

The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner said he tweaked his back "overworking, overplaying, overtraining." He plans to ease up a bit as the top-ranked Gators prepare for their Sept. 5 opener against Charleston Southern.

"First thing is mom and dad, 'Everything OK?' 'Yeah Mom. I'm fine,'" Tebow said with a chuckle. "Everything's good. I think (all the media attention about the sore back) is funny. More than anything it makes people worry, people that are friends of the family (asking), 'Is Tim OK?' 'Yeah, he's OK.'"

Tebow also acknowledged that he played most of last season with an injured non-throwing shoulder. He hurt his right shoulder in the opener against Hawaii and had painkilling injections before every game the rest of the season. He had surgery in January to remove a bone spur and reduce chronic inflammation.
