HOLIDAY - A 19-year-old Tarpon Springs man was arrested by Pasco deputies Wednesday, accused of breaking into a home in Holiday and stealing more than $22,000 worth of valuables.
Detectives say Travis Wayne Bowen, 307 Cypress St., Tarpon Springs, broke into a home at 3618 Overland Drive on July 7. He stole, according to a sheriff's office report, $9,460 in collectible coins, a .50-caliber rifle, jewelry, medication and tools.
According to a report, the victim told detectives the items were valued at more than $22,000.
Fingerprints found at the crime scene matched Bowen, and the victim told deputies she doesn't know him, the report states.
Deputies interviewed Bowen at the Land O' Lakes Jail, where he was being held on unrelated charges of possession of a controlled substance and fleeing to elude. He admitted to breaking into the home, the report states.
He's being held on $40,000 bail.
