690,114 clunkers replaced

The government said its final tally shows dealers submitted 690,114 vouchers under the Cash for Clunkers program, totaling $2.88 billion.
Japanese automakers Toyota, Honda and Nissan accounted for 41 percent; domestic models made up the rest. The Toyota Corolla was bought most often, followed by the Honda Civic, Toyota Camry and Ford Focus.
