The University of Tampa cross-country runner who was killed during a robbery this month in Tampa was laid to rest Thursday in his hometown.
Hundreds attended funeral services for Ryan McCall at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Downingtown, Pa., near Philadelphia.
On Wednesday night, about 650 people attended a viewing in Downingtown, including some of McCall's UT cross-country teammates.
McCall, 21, and a friend were walking home from a bar about 3 a.m. Aug. 19 when a robber confronted them, Tampa police say.
McCall was fatally shot.
His body was found on the north side of North Boulevard Bridge.
The friend, Mike Harahan, managed to get away. Police have not caught the killer.
McCall is survived by his father, Kevin; his mother, Joanne; a sister, Kimberly; and a brother, Kevin.
