HOLIDAY - A 19-year-old man was arrested by Pasco County deputies Wednesday, accused of breaking into a home and stealing items valued at more than $22,000.
Detectives say Travis Wayne Bowen of 307 Cypress St., Tarpon Springs, broke into a home at 3618 Overland Drive on July 7. He stole, according to a Pasco County Sheriff's Office report, $9,460 in collectible coins, a .50-caliber rifle, jewelry, medication and tools.
According to the report, the owner told detectives the items were valued at more than $22,000.
Fingerprints found at the crime scene match those of Bowen, and the victim told deputies she does not know him, the report states.
Deputies interviewed Bowen at Land O' Lakes Jail, where he was being held on unrelated charges of possession of a controlled substance and fleeing law enforcement officers. He said he broke into the home, the report states.
His bail has been set at $40,000.
