MILWAUKEE - Wesley Matthews scored 19 of his 23 points in the second half, helping No. 8 Marquette remain undefeated in the Big East with a 94-82 victory against No. 25 Georgetown on Saturday, the Hoyas' fifth straight loss.
Jerel McNeal scored 26 points and Lazar Hayward added 23 for the Golden Eagles (19-2, 8-0), who have won 11 straight games and remain in a first-place tie with No. 7 Louisville atop the conference.
It was the third straight road loss for reeling Georgetown (12-8, 3-6).
Marquette took control with a 12-2 run midway through the second half, capped by a 3-point play by backup guard Jimmy Butler to give Marquette a 10-point lead with 11:03 remaining.
