A Tampa man was arrested Sunday morning as part of a drug-related home invasion, Tampa police say.
Justin Alvarado-Tavales, 18, was charged with armed home invasion.
The incident began shortly after midnight Sunday, when he went to a home to buy marijuana, an arrest report states. The plan was for Alvarado-Tavales to get inside the victim's home to allow access to two of Alvarado-Tavales' friends so they could enter with guns and take money and drugs.
But during the incident, Alvarado-Tavales got scared and left, police say.
The two men came in with handguns and demanded money, according to the report. One of the armed men stole a victim's $700 watch, and the other took a $50 bag of marijuana.
Details on the other men involved in the attack weren't listed in the report.
Alvarado-Tavales remains in Orient Road Jail today. No bail has been set.
