TAMPA - A Wesley Chapel man is charged with felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, accused of pointing a gun at a motorist on Interstate 275, an affidavit states.
The Florida Highway Patrol arrested Cecil Alex Wilcox, 63, in Al Lopez Park at 4810 N. Himes Ave. about 5:14 p.m. Tuesday. He was released from Orient Road Jail after posting $2,000 bail, records show.
According to an affidavit, Wilcox got involved in a road rage incident around Interstate 275 and Bearss Avenue about 3:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Wilcox, who was driving a four-door Acura, is accused of pointing a pistol at another motorist over a tailgating dispute, the affidavit states.
A Tampa police officer stopped Wilcox in the park.
The affidavit does not state how the dispute began or how police found Wilcox.
