New Ramp To Tampa Airport Opens On S.R. 60 Westbound

TAMPA - Drivers going to Tampa International Airport need to adapt again.

A new ramp opened this morning for motorists northbound on Memorial Highway (westbound State Road 60). Airport-bound drivers now need to exit at Spruce Street.

"For the airport users, that means they have to exit about a quarter-mile sooner than they would have because the Spruce Street exit is a little farther south," Department of Transportation spokesman John McShaffrey said.

So far, the transition seemed to be going smoothly, he said. A new airport road will open later this year, but drivers will still exit at the same place.

In October, motorists adjusted to a new airport exit from southbound Memorial.
