Animal Adoption Event Set For Valentine's Day

TAMPA - Animal lovers can find special affection on Valentine's Day, visiting the Muvico Starlight 20.

Hillsborough County Animal Services and Labrador Retriever Rescue of Florida, Inc. are hosting an adoption event there from noon until 4 p.m. Hollywood celebrity, Rudy, a local lab featured in the movie Marlie & Me, will also be on hand.

Rudy was discovered by the Labrador Retriever Rescue at the county's shelter before becoming famous on the big screen.

Volunteers will be there with foster dogs now recovering from the life-threatening heartworm disease.

Valentine cat adoptions will be priced at $14 the same day, both at the event and at the Animal Services shelter, 440 Falkenburg Road in Tampa.

Have a Heart – Heal the Love will also include prize giveaways and heart-health education information for pet owners.

Muvico Starlight 20 is at 18002 Highwoods Preserve Parkway in Tampa.
