Clearwater police today said they were asking for the public's help in identifying a bank robber.
The suspect is described as a black man, roughly 30 years of age, who is 5-feet-9-inches and weighs 190 pounds. He has a dark complexion, is clean-shaven and has short hair or a shaved head.
On Jan. 30, just after 5 p.m., he walked into the BBANDT bank branch, 23684 U.S. 19 N., and approached a teller, said Elizabeth Watts, Clearwater's public safety spokeswoman. He handed her a note which demanded money and implied the suspect was armed, Watts said.
He received an undisclosed amount of cash.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Clearwater Police Department Tip Line at 727-562-4422.
