TAMPA - Some Dunkin' Donuts in the Tampa Bay area will start selling doughnuts today decorated with pirate themes to celebrate Gasparilla.
The doughnut chain will sponsor a float in Saturday's Gasparilla parade. Some of the beads tossed during the parade will have a medallion good for $1 off a dozen doughnuts.
Some of the doughnuts will be chocolate frosted with red and white sprinkles or a plain doughnut with black icing and red and white sprinkles.
Others will be more elaborate, with a skull and crossbones or a pirate's visage.
The doughnuts will be available through Saturday at participating stores. Some of the locations include:
• 3512 E. Hillsborough Ave., Tampa
• 2551 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd., Clearwater
• 13013 66th St. N., Largo
• 3515 East Bay Drive, Largo
