TAMPA - More than a few motorists did a double-take Wednesday morning as they sped by a herd of goats wandering along the Veterans Expressway.
About 4 a.m., Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies arrived at the expressway south of Waters Avenue and shooed eight goats away from the eastbound exit lanes and toward the side of the road.
The herd was made of five black, two brown-and-white and one brown goat. All were fully grown adults.
Deputies did not know where the goats came from. They were impounded. Anyone with information on the goats can call (813) 247-8605 and ask for the environmental agricultural unit.
