Price To Be Paid

The Republicans think it's OK to spend hundreds of billions on an unnecessary war but refuse to help pass the economic recovery plan because ..... ?

I haven't heard any reason yet. It's pure politics and the very reason the Republicans were run out of office. They don't get it.

This is not a game. People are hurting, and it's because Republicans were asleep at the wheel for the last eight years. Wanting this plan to fail is unpatriotic and un-American.

This plan will eventually be passed and there will be hell to pay for everyone who opposed it.

A Full Vetting

It looks like the rats are running around the deck with many of the recent Obama nominations. They don't like to pay their taxes.

I think the correct thing to do is simple. We need a nonpartisan and complete audit by the IRS of taxes paid or not paid by high public officials. Start with Obama, Joe Biden, all members of the House and Senate, and all appointees who require Senate approval. If they do not pay their taxes, they should be shunned or rejected from nominations if there is no other recourse, or impeached from office if there is recourse.

This is not partisan. It would apply equally to every high official in government, both Democrat and Republican. Cleanse the government of crooks and frauds, and then move to the levels of state of Florida and Hillsborough County governments.

Good Tax Plan

I like the Obama plan to reduce the deficit. Just keep on nominating politicians who kick in an extra few hundred-thousand dollars to the Internal Revenue Service 15 minutes before they get nominated.

Obama's Let-Down

Why are these tax-evaders appointed to key positions under President Obama's leadership? Didn't he promise sweeping changes in the new administration?

I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but he has already disappointed me. I had the vision that he was going to hone in on the housing catastrophe (and believe me it is a much greater disaster than Congress can imagine).

Instead, there are all kinds of goodies in the stimulus package.

Obama, why don't you concentrate solely on the stimulus and nothing else for now? Practice what you preached.

We are nauseatingly sick of two-faced, hypocritical cheats in the White House and surrounding offices.
