An electric space heater caused a fire in a Plant City mobile home this morning that displaced six people, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue said.
No one was injured in the blaze at 2205 W. Knights Griffin Road that broke out about 6:41 a.m., Capt. Bruce Delk said.
One of the residents awoke to the smell of smoke and evacuated everyone safely, Delk said.
Firefighters had the fire under control within 20 minutes.
The American Red Cross is assisting the residents with temporary housing, Delk said.
