TIERRA VERDE - A tour class offered on the fringes of Tampa Bay plunges participants in the marine environment.
Tampa Bay Watch, a nonprofit stewardship program dedicated to protecting and restoring the Bay, is offering the four-hour course from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays at its headquarters near the entrance to Fort De Soto Park.
A Day on the Bay is designed for residents, visitors and groups interested in learning about the marine environment through kayaking and touch tanks, said Rachel Arndt of Tampa Bay Watch.
The course starts with a classroom orientation on the estuary, touch tanks and a day exploring the Bay in a tandem kayak.
Tuition is $20 for Tampa Bay Watch members and $25 for nonmembers.
