St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue responded to a suspicious blaze tonight at 1703 43rd St. S., and an arson dog has been called to the scene.
About 8 p.m., units arrived at the fire at a one-story wood frame house. The home had "heavy fire and smoke conditions," a St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue news release states.
Crews worked to battle the fire and stop a neighbor's home from catching fire.
A fire investigator determined the blaze was suspicious. The home was vacant and its power was disconnected.
