Nayshamish Hampton tried buying $1,200 in merchandise from Walmart using a counterfeit check, Plant City police say.
When the check came back to a false account, Hampton, 29, of Tampa, went to customer service and tried again with another counterfeit check, according to police.
Officers arrested Hampton about 1:51 p.m. today at 2602 James L. Redman Parkway.
Hampton provided officers a false identification card identifying herself as "Delilah Singleton," a criminal arrest affidavit states. Officers also found two counterfeit $50 bills in Hampton's purse.
Hampton was charged with two counts each of grand theft and uttering a forged check and one count each of giving a false name to law enforcement, possession of uncurrent bills, using false identification and organized fraud-less than $20,000.
She remains in Orient Road Jail today. Her bail is set at $14,500.
