HOLIDAY - A Pasco County deputy, responding to a report of a fight, suffered minor injuries when his patrol car collided with another car at U.S. 19 and Mile Stretch Road on Friday night, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
A woman and child in the other car also had minor injuries.
Deputy Justin Ross, 20, had his lights and siren on as he headed west on Mile Stretch and drove through a traffic light at the intersection. Other traffic yielded to the deputy, but Darlene Manderson, 32, of Tarpon Springs, didn't see him because other vehicles on U.S. 19 obstructed her view, the report said.
Manderson had a green light and kept driving south on U.S. 19, and that's when the crash happened, the report said.
Ross, Manderson and Jacquez Holmes, 10, of Tarpon Springs, were treated at Community Hospital in New Port Richey.
The investigation continues.
