Detectives Hope Car Yields Clues In Possible Homicide

Detectives are searching for the vehicle of a woman whose body was found Thursday near North Rye Road in Manatee County.
The body of Lauren Whitney Lichon, 22, of Sarasota, was discovered just after 2 p.m. Thursday, east of North Rye Road and about 20 feet south of Rye Wilderness Trail.
Investigators think Lichon, 4900 N. Tamiami Trail, was killed sometime early that afternoon, possibly between 1 and 2 p.m. An autopsy was performed, but the sheriff's office is not yet releasing the cause of death.
Anyone who may have seen something suspicious in the area where the body was discovered or has any other information on this case is asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 941-747-3011 or Crime Stoppers at 866-634-TIPS.
Detectives are searching for Lichon's black 1996 Dodge Avenger, which has Florida tag F310RV. The car has black wheels and tinted windows.
