Bulls Pull Away For Win

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Janae Stokes led five South Florida players in double figures with 22 points, and the Bulls pulled away in the final 10 minutes to earn an 88-79 win against Syracuse on Sunday.

Jessica Lawson scored 16 points for the Bulls, Brittany Denson added 14 and Jazmine Sepulveda 13, while Shantia Grace had 13 points and eight assists as South Florida (17-7, 4-6 Big East) bounced back from a loss to Marquette earlier in the week.

Syracuse tied the game at 54 on a layup by Chandrea Jones, but Grace then gave the Bulls a six-point lead on back-to-back 3-pointers. The Orange cut the lead to 60-59, but South Florida then started to pull away, going on a 10-2 run to take an 80-69 lead with 2:07 to play.

Nicole Michael led all scorers with 27 points, and Jones added 21 points for the Orange (14-9, 3-7), but they were provided little support from the rest of the Syracuse lineup. The Orange lost their third straight.

Noles Roll Past Hurricanes, 75-59

CORAL GABLES - Tanae Davis-Cain scored 18 points to lead No. 15 Florida State to a 75-59 win over Miami.

Alysha Harvin scored 13, Courtney Ward added 11, and Jacinta Monroe chipped in 10 for Florida State (20-5, 8-1 ACC), which has won 11 of its past 12 games.

Florida State led throughout the first half and took a 34-24 lead into the break following a 3-pointer by Harvin.

Miami tied the game at 40 with 13:56 left, but Florida State went on an 11-1 run to retake control of the game.

Florida State shot 39.7 percent (25-for-63) from the floor compared to Miami, which shot 41.8 percent (23-for-55), but Miami was plagued by its 23 turnovers.

Miami (12-11, 1-7) was led by Shenise Johnson, who scored 20 points.

STILLWATER, Okla. - Courtney Paris broke the NCAA Division I rebounding record and set two Big 12 scoring marks in leading Oklahoma (20-2, 8-0) to a victory over rival Oklahoma State (14-7, 3-5).

Paris had 17 points and eight rebounds, with her first breaking the record of 1,815 set by Wanda Ford of Drake from 1983-86. Danielle Robinson added 18 points and Oklahoma extended its winning streak to 16 games.

Paris finished the game with 1,823 career boards. In the second half, she broke the Big 12 career scoring record of 2,480 points, set by Baylor's Sophia Young from 2003-06, and Young's Big 12 field goals record of 1,034. Paris now has 2,481 points and 1,037 field goals.

PULLMAN, Wash. - Ashley Walker scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help California (20-2, 11-0 Pac-10) beat Washington State (9-13, 2-9) and extend the school record with its 12th consecutive win.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - DeWanna Bonner had 18 points and nine rebounds to help Auburn (23-1, 8-1 SEC) coast to a win over Alabama (12-12, 0-9).

SEATTLE - Jayne Appel scored seven of her 16 points during a decisive spurt to start the second half, Jeanette Pohlen led Stanford with 19 points, and the Cardinal (19-4, 10-1 Pac-10) pulled away to beat Washington (5-16, 1-10).

AUSTIN, Texas - Earnesia Williams scored 16 points to help Texas (17-5, 5-3) rout Texas Tech (13-9, 3-5) for the Longhorns' third straight Big 12 win.

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Christina Wirth had 20 points and seven rebounds and Merideth Marsh added 15 points as Vanderbilt (18-6, 7-2 SEC) beat Kentucky (13-11, 3-6).
