Winter Haven Motorcyclist Critically Injured In Hit And Run

Polk County deputies are investigating a hit-and-run crash today involving a motorcycle.
James Key II, 35, of Winter Haven, was driving a 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle west on Avenue G N.W. about 12:12 p.m. when the crash occurred, deputies say. Key tried to turn left onto Recker Highway, and a vehicle heading north on Recker made a right turn onto Avenue G, striking Key's motorcycle.
The Kawasaki skidded off the road, and the other vehicle left the scene, deputies say.
Key was taken to Tampa General Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
